The Electricity Transmission, Distribution and Access Project (PTDAE) financed by the World Bank aims, among other things, to electrify 200 localities in the regions of San Pedro, Nawa, Gboklè and Haut Sassandra in Côte d’Ivoire at medium and low voltage as part of the Rural Electrification component of the PTDAE project.

The Côte d’Ivoire-Liberia-Sierra Leone and Guinea interconnection project, known as the “CLSG Interconnection Project”, aims at bridging the energy deficit of these countries by building a 1303 km 225 kV transmission line, 11 new 225 kV source substations including 5 with compensation equipment, two dispatching centres and a regional SCADA and frequency control system.

This component of the World Bank-financed Power Sector Recovery Project has two components :
1-Supply, installation, testing and commissioning of materials and equipment for the rehabilitation and extension of the MV/LV distribution network of the municipality of Dixinn ;
2-Supply and installation of materials and equipment for the rehabilitation of connections and the improvement of technical conditions for the connection of makeshift networks in the Kaloum, Ratoma and Matoto areas.

The purpose of the study on access to electricity from the source substations of the OMVG electricity interconnection project is to support the Governments of Senegal, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau and the Gambia in their efforts to increase access to electricity services on a sustainable basis by extending and strengthening the electricity distribution networks of the countries concerned.
The expected results of the APS and ODA studies are as follows: proposal for power supply to urban, peri-urban and rural centres from OMVG project substations; economic and financial assessments of investments; detailed studies of the components for extending and strengthening the distribution networks.

The Project for the Development of the Electricity Distribution System in the City of Bissau (PDSDE) financed by the African Development Fund (ADF) aims at improving the electrical energy distribution system and increasing access to electricity for the populations of the city of Bissau.

This component of the World Bank-funded Power Sector Recovery Project aims to improve revenues from the sale of power, but also to update information on the customer base of the operating company EDG.
The objectives of the project are the following for the Greater Conakry region and the interior of the country: Systematic census, capture of GPS coordinates and coding of LV network media and delivery points (consumers); Mapping of the LV network; Development of an EXCEL and GIS database; Integration into EDG’s Customer Management System.

The NELACEP project funded by the World Bank includes :
1-The construction of two 66 kV transformer bays at the North Niamey substation and the extension of MV switchboards in eight other source substations;
2-The extension and reinforcement of the MV and LV electricity distribution networks in peri-urban areas in the cities of Niamey, Dosso, Tillabéry, Maradi, Tahoua, Agadez and Zinder;
3-The development of access to electricity in rural areas.
